FAFSA registation is starting on october 1st for the 2018-2019 school year. Are you ready? This webinar will provide an overview of Up Next, a free tool for school staff, college access program staff, and students and their family. Up Next is a FREE, evidence-based texting tool that offers personalized support on all things related to college access and completion-college search and application, federal student aid, even student loan repayment-all through texting. It's quick and easy to enroll and costs nothing. Up Next does not spam users with unnecessary messages or ads; the tool only shares the most important reminders to keep students and parents on track to college. This webinar will show you how you can use Up Next in your work with students to increase college access and success as well as how you can promote this tool to your constituents.

This  webinar will also provide a preview of what Reach Higher and Better Make Room have planned for the year ahead. We appreciate all the work you do each day to empower and inspire students, and we're excited to continue our partnership in this new year.

Presenter: Don Yu
As Director of Better Make Room, Don supports former First Lady Michelle Obama's Reach Higher initiative to inspire every student in America to take charge of their future by completing their education past high school, whether at a professional training program, a community college, or a four year college or university. Better Make Room seeks to celebrate education, change the national conversation, and reach students directly where they are and given them a space to create content while also navigating the college-going process. With partners in the business, philanthropic, media, and education realm, this campaign will stretch across the country to inspire students and give them the tools they need to reach higher for college. Prior to joining Civic Nation, Don served as the chief of school transformation at the U.S. Department of the Interior and as special advisor to U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. He is a former teacher and school district attorney. Don received his B.A. and M.A. from Columbia University and a J.D. from Northwestern University.
