Lift Up Atlanta


  • Providing volunteer opportunities and an upcoming youth talent competition on December 5th.
  • Volunteer Opportunities coming up: 
  1.  1st Saturday Bless the Homeless- put together blessing bags filled with bottled water, personal hygiene items, and snacks for the homeless and the needy families.
  2. Thanksgiving Food Drive- collect thanksgiving menu items and they will be sorted and distributed to needy families.
  3. Christmas Toy Drive- students collect new toys for needy children.
  • Youth Talent Competition is open to ages 5-17 with various talents. Winners will receive trophies. Competition is free to enter and participate.

Discover Sewanee- University of the South


  • November 8 & 9: Discover Sewanee is a program designed for high school seniors to help them discover the diversity of the people and experiences that Sewanee has to offer.
  • Discover Sewanee is an invitation only event. To apply for this event students must complete  the Discover Sewanee application, as well as submit a high school transcript by October 1st. Students must also submit Common Application by November 1st.
  • Travel assistance is available. Sewannee will make travel arrangements or reimburse their travel.
  • Participants will be hosted by current students.

ROADTRIP NATION EDUCATION


  • RoadTrip Nation empowers individuals to explore who they are and what they want to do with their lives. Through a public television series, online resources, and an educational curriculum, RoadTrip Nation helps career-seekers connect to real-world professionals and discover pathways aligned with their interests.
  • What does RoadTrip Nation do?  1)put college aged young people in a RV and on the road for 7 weeks every year (with a camera crew) to interview people leading lives of passion. 2) construct it into a show which has been on PBS for over 10 years. 3) The course work culminates in the students performing informational interviews of leaders they respect and leading lives in which the students are interested.
  • There is no cost. RoadTrip Nation partners with the AT&T Foundation, this year the AT&T Foundation awarded RoadTrip Nation with a grant . RoadTrip Nation is working to serve AVID or at risk students and fulfill a grant.

Yale- Young Global Scholars (Beijing)


  • YYGS-Beijing is a residential program where admitted students will live together under adult supervision and attend seven full days of programming at the Yale Center Beijing.
  • YYGS-Beijing will bring together talented students in Beijing, China to encourage their drive, energy, vision, and potential to make meaningful impacts as young leaders.
